New Bikes!

Wow! We had a great weekend! Calvin started classes last week, so by the time the weekend rolled around, we were ready to have some fun. We really miss Calvin when he has to go to school all day! It was so nice to have some time off to spend together and with our families (post on that still to come...)

So on Friday night we thought we'd have some fun and go camping. The night before, we had set up the tent to make sure we had all the pieces. We were going to go to this cool place called Hanging Rock State Park, where they have some hiking trails, a waterfall, swimming, and camping. However, by the time we got there, we realized that there was far too much rain and water for the gear we had brought with us. So, we just went to the picnic area and had our dinner. We set up our grill and made some hot dogs, ate some watermelon and chips, and then roasted marshmallows. Yum! Camden had fun playing in the dirt and mud. Luckily we had some spare clothes to change him into when we got back in the car. We then drove on to Mt. Airy to see if we could find a hotel, but they all turned out to be more than we wanted to pay, so Calvin drove us back home while Camden and I slept. It was a fun drive and a good dinner!

Then on Saturday, we still had some time and wanted to do something fun. We were trying to think of what to do when Calvin suggested that we go and get some bikes. It sounded like a great idea, so we went and picked out a bike for each of us and got a little seat for Camden! We had so much fun riding on the American Tobacco Trail through Durham. It was a really nice paved trail with a lot of shade and just a slight incline. We rode 10 miles, far for me, but not so far for Calvin. Camden really seemed to like the part he was awake for! We had worked so long on getting the bikes and putting together the seat that Camden was all tired out by the time we started riding. We had a lot of fun and we're excited to be able to ride together more!
