Happy Birthday Camden!

June 2, 2012-We had a great day celebrating Camden's 4th Birthday!  I can't believe he is such a big boy already!  The day started off with a fun horseback ride with Dad and Jr.  Camden likes riding horses.

We then headed to the Bear River Lodge.  Our first activity...fishing!  Camden loves to catch fish and eat fish.  Within minutes, we had one on the line!

Camden wasn't afraid of the fish at all, he wanted to be the first to hold it.

We were happy that we could go up to the lodge so that we could celebrate with Brooklyn and Dad (Grandpa), who were working for the weekend.  Emily brought her friend Kristy and Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Eggett came too.

We had a lot of fun enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery.

Grandpa practiced some fly fishing...

...and gave me a lesson.

We all caught a lot of fish!

After all of the fishing, we had a lunch of pizza, fruit, and salad.  We also celebrated with a rainbow trout cake!

After the pizza and cake, we went with Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Eggett on a ride in the ranger!  It was a great evening to take a ride.  Camden and Coulton both enjoyed the ride and napping on the ride.  They were worn out!  It was a lot of fun and we were happy to celebrate Camden's Birthday!  We love you Camden!

Coulton-9 Months Old!

Wow! I can't believe our Coulton is 9 months old already!  We have really enjoyed having him as a part of our family the last 9 months.  Coulton is such a happy boy.  He is also getting very big!  We took him to his check-up with the doctor and Coulton weighs 23 lbs and is 29" tall!  He is in the 92nd percentile for weight and 76th percentile for height.  He has 4 teeth on the top of his mouth and 2 teeth on the bottom.

Here are some pictures of Coulton and some of his favorite things.

If the door is open, Coulton is outside.  He loves to crawl around outside, trying to eat leaves and bark, while Camden runs or rides his bike.

Coulton is really beginning to enjoy playing with toys. He likes to play with the jungle/ball toy you can see here, cars, trains, wagons, blocks, farm animals, and just about anything that is set out for him to play with.
I was trying to get a picture of Coulton's teeth here.  He has the cutest smile!

Coulton is a good boy in the stroller or bike trailer and enjoys being out in the sun.
We has also started to wave when you say, "Hi, Coulton!"
Another thing Coulton loves...food!  He will eat anything we are eating and especially likes strawberries and grapes.  He also likes to munch on crackers.
We made some angel food cake (from scratch!) and strawberry sauce and whipped cream the other day.  The boys loved the whipped cream!

And  finally, Coulton loves to climb up the stairs.  He is fast, too!  He will climb up a few stairs, then turn around to see if you are watching him and wave.  It is very cute.

We sure love Coulton and are so glad to have him in our family!  Camden loves having a little brother to play and wrestle with.  Coulton even likes the wrestling!  If anyone is on the floor, Coulton will crawl over and start growling and pushing with his head.  It is so funny.  Happy 9 months Coulton!

Outside

The weather has been so beautiful lately!  We have had so much fun being outside.  I have loved taking the boys out in the bike trailer that I pull with my bike.  We go out on this paved trail that leaves right near our house.  I give the boys some crackers to eat to keep them happy while we're out :)  We love listening to the many birds and enjoying the beautiful blossoms and green trees.

Camden, the photographer, took this picture of Coulton and me.  Too bad Coulton was more interested in playing with the truck than looking at the camera!

Sometimes, we take Camden's bike and I push Coulton in the stroller.  Camden loves riding out on the trail!  It gives him much more space to ride than back and forth on the sidewalks at home.

Coulton had fun playing with one of our tennis ball finds when we passed the tennis courts.

Last week we ended up having a family date to The Hunger Games when our babysitter got sick.  It couldn't have gone any better-Coulton slept the whole time and Camden enjoyed eating his popcorn and was good through the whole movie.  After the movie, we took them out to see Camden's favorite marching band, the ducks :)  We have a picture of Camden here when he was Coulton's size!

We've also enjoyed going out to the nearby parks!  Coulton loves to swing.

Camden loves to dig...

...and climb!

Camden also loved playing outside in the rain!  We've had quite a few rainstorms lately, combined with the 80 degree days, everything is very green!

And one more thing we love to do outside-check the mail!  Camden rides his bike over and I push Coulton in the stroller.  Thank you to Grandma Eggett for sending the boys this Easter package!  They love getting mail!

We love being outside and will definitely miss the beautiful weather and scenery when we leave North Carolina!

Swimming Lessons

The boys and I had so much fun taking swimming lessons over the last few weeks!  Camden took the preschool class for 3-5 year olds and Coulton and I took the parent-tot class.  Both classes were held at the same time.

Camden did a great job swimming!  His favorite thing to do is jump off the swimming blocks that the swim team uses at the deep end of the pool.

Coulton did a great job too!  He was a little sad at first when we got into the water, but once he got used to it, he was splashing and kicking like a real swimmer!

Here's Coulton practicing his new standing skills!  We took a few pictures before getting in the pool.

It was so much fun to have swimming lessons together!  Calvin got to come watch us once and took Camden to one of his lessons when I was in Utah.  We can't wait for summer and all the swimming to come!

Day trip to South Carolina

We had a fun day one Friday a few weeks ago.  Calvin was going to be busy on Saturday, so we spent the day together.  We packed lunches and headed out for a hike.  We walked along the Haw River, which was really nice.  Camden learned some outdoors skills and practiced his climbing on this tree.  We marched around to the tune of "Follow Me, Boys!" playing on my phone.  It was a lot of fun.

After the hike, we started on a drive to a place in South Carolina where we stopped last year on our spring break trip.  We couldn't remember the name, but it was this farm where they grow peaches and pecans and had an old tractor museum.  We found it again-McLeod Farm.  Camden had so much fun with all of the antique tractors.  We also got a peach enchilada with vanilla ice cream and some pecan-sweet-potato bread; both were delicious!

It was a fun day trip and great being able to spend time together with our family.

Buddies

Camden and Coulton are buddies.  They love spending time together.  I know I'm behind, but here are some pictures, in no particular order, of my darling little boys having some fun together!

The boys love to take baths together.  We fill up the tub with bubbles and toys and they have a lot of fun.  When I take Coulton out to get his pajamas on and let Camden stay in for a few minutes longer, Camden says, "Hey, I need a friend in here still!"

Camden is so good at being a big brother.  He loves to help with Coulton.  Here he is helping feed Coulton his rice cereal and baby food.  Camden likes to mix the rice cereal and pour the baby food into a bowl.

For Valentine's Day, we sent some fun Valentine's packages.  The boys enjoyed helping me put them together.

We often walk over to the playground near our house.  The boys like to slide and swing together.  On this day, Camden picked his and Coulton's matching shirts to wear!

We stay busy with lots of chores to do around the house!  The boys like to play in the laundry basket while I fold the clothes.

You can see Camden trying to help Coulton hold still and look at the camera :)

And finally...the boys like to ride around in the truck together in the back seat!  We often take drives as a family and look for new places to see.

We truly love our boys and hope they continue to enjoy being together!  I will keep working on posting more regularly!
